Air New Zealand's story began in April 1940 when its forerunner airline, Tasman Empire Airways
Limited (TEAL) was incorporated. Air New Zealand is a major scheduled passenger airline based in Auckland, New Zealand. It is
the New Zealand flag carrier focusing on Australasia and the South Pacific, with services to Europe, North America and Asia and
a Star Alliance member. Its main base is Auckland International Airport.
